Fort McKay First Nation has welcomed Samantha “Sam” Collins as the new Student Success Coordinator with the Education Department.
Collins will support Fort McKay First Nation youth in Grades 8 to 12 attending school in Fort McMurray, providing one-on-one support, monitoring academic progress and attendance, and working with school staff to help students succeed.
She recently completed a Bachelor of Social Work through the University of Calgary and has lived in Fort McMurray for 17 years. Collins will be reaching out to families in the coming weeks to introduce herself and learn how she can support students and families, she can also be reached by calling 780-215-8928.
