Residents in Fort McMurray are being urged by police to inspect their homes and belongings after a series of suspicious fires and acts of vandalism came to light in one local neighbourhood.
Alberta Drive and Poplar Crescent have seen several vehicles along with other personal items deliberately damaged, either by fire or through vandalism.
Shortly after 10 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a blaze involving a flat-deck trailer at a residence on Alberta Drive. Investigators are treating the incident as arson.
The known incidents appear to have taken place sometime between midnight and 6 a.m. on Friday.
Police are encouraging anyone living nearby to examine their security camera recordings and carefully check their property for any signs of damage.
