Energy leaders, technology providers and operators will convene in Fort McMurray later this month for the Oil Sands Expo, an industry event centred on advancing oilsands production.
The gathering will explore how producers can boost output from existing operations while enhancing reliability, cutting downtime and controlling costs.
Exhibitors are expected to present solutions spanning automation, processing, mining, maintenance, safety and overall operational efficiency.
A newly confirmed keynote address by Andrew Rosser, senior vice-president of Syncrude Operations, is scheduled for Sept. 17. Rosser will examine the path forward for oilsands development, focusing on how companies are weighing growth against reliability, cost management, emissions performance and sustained competitiveness. He will also discuss the role of technology and investment choices in delivering safer, more productive sites.
Conference sessions will tackle hands-on industry issues, including innovative dust-control methods, improved heat-exchanger inspection techniques, real-time monitoring of slurry pipeline wear, and strategies to raise heat-exchanger efficiency and reliability.
