Lloydminster is getting ready to host the K9 Frisbee Worldwide Championship Alberta Regional on Saturday, September 5 at the Servus Sports Centre.
The event will kick off at 8:30 a.m., featuring dog-and-handler teams competing at the facility located on the south end of the Border City. This local tournament is one of 31 regional qualifiers taking place across Canada, the United States, Mexico, and the Netherlands from September 5 to September 13.
The global competition unites thousands of competitors who will follow the same rules, with scores combined across all locations to determine the international rankings. Using the league’s Toss & Fetch format, each team will participate in three 60-second rounds, accumulating points based on the distance of each successful catch. Individual teams will compete for regional titles while also contributing to their local club’s scores. The top eight scoring teams from each club will be counted toward the overall club standings.
The 2026 K9 Frisbee Worldwide Champion Club and final individual rankings will be announced after the last regional event concludes on September 13.
The K9 Frisbee Worldwide League includes more than 5,000 teams across 200 active clubs globally.
