The 6th annual River Cree Cup World Championship is set to Treaty 6 Territory Sep 4-6, bringing relay teams together at Enoch Park Race Track for a weekend of Indian Relay racing, competition and community.
Kyle Peacock, Enoch Tribal Council Member spoke with CFWE on the event featuring a $200,000 prize purse, including $70,000 and buckles for first place, calling it the world championships.

Peacock says more than 50 teams have registered, with 10 more expected, representing Alberta, Saskatchewan, Montana, Idaho and Washington. He highlights Enoch’s deep horse-racing history and connection to the animal, hoping the event showcases the beauty of the sport to non-Indigenous audiences.
