The 14th Annual Tiny Hands of Hope Walk to Remember, which takes place in Grande Prairie, is coming up on September 19 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. This event is dedicated to parents, families, and friends who want to remember and celebrate babies lost through various types of pregnancy and infant loss. Participants will gather at Muskoseepi Park, where they can see the names of all the loved ones who have been lost. A community barbecue will follow the walk.
“The Walk to Remember is super important for our community. A lot of the families that have had pregnancy and infant loss haven’t had the chance to have a funeral or a memorial,” said Tia Sheehan, Board Leader for the charity.
“A lot of the time, families that have experienced these types of losses just don’t talk about it because they don’t want to make other people uncomfortable.”
The deadline to register a name during the walk is September 5th.
