RCMP in Northern Alberta are seeking witnesses as they continue investigating the suspicious death of a man on Chipewyan Prairie First Nation more than two years ago.
Police say officers responded to Nokohoo Road, south of Fort McMurray, at about 4:13 a.m. on Jan. 13, 2024, following a report of an unresponsive man.
Regional Emergency Services attempted life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was later identified as Tyler Herman.
An autopsy was conducted at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner two days later. RCMP say the manner of death was deemed suspicious.
The Wood Buffalo RCMP General Investigation Section has continued investigating Herman’s death and is now asking anyone with information to come forward.
“Investigations can be complex and, at times, lengthy,” said Staff Sgt. Mike Robinson, acting investigative services officer with Wood Buffalo RCMP.
Robinson said new information can emerge as an investigation continues and even details someone considers minor could prove significant.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Wood Buffalo RCMP at 780-788-4040 or 310-RCMP.
