Red Deer Museum + Art Gallery is rolling out the welcome mat for its annual Heritage Day Hootenanny on Monday, August 3 — an old-fashioned celebration packed with live music, community spirit, and family fun.
The free event, running from noon to 7 p.m., will feature a full day of entertainment including live performances, a local artisan market, food trucks, hands-on art activities, gallery tours, and a dedicated kids’ zone.
“The Hootenanny is our biggest friendraiser of the year, hands down,” said Chandra Kastern, executive director of the Museum + Art Gallery (MAG). “It’s our chance to throw open our doors, celebrate Heritage Day with the whole community, and show everyone what the Museum and Art Gallery can be.”
This year’s main stage lineup brings together an impressive roster of talent: the Brigadiers String Band, Cole Martin Band, Peter and the Wolves, Mariel Buckley, Tim Hus, and Cat Clyde.
