2025 Lacombe County farm family of the year Theo and Claudine Bruning
Lacombe County and the Lacombe and District Chamber of Commerce are teaming up to celebrate local agricultural excellence with the 2026 Farm Family of the Year Award.
Now in its fourth year, the award highlights the outstanding achievements and contributions of ranch and farm families across the region.
The winner(s) will be revealed at the 2026 Chamber Gala in October.
“Our farm families are at the heart of what makes Lacombe County such a strong and vibrant community,” said Reeve John Ireland. “This award is a great way to shine a light on the people who put so much care and effort into their operations and give back to our rural way of life. I’d encourage folks to take a moment to nominate a family who really stands out—it’s a meaningful way to recognize the impact they’re making every day.”
The award honours families that demonstrate excellence in several key areas including technical farm production, sustainable practices, family business management, involvement in the agricultural industry, and community citizenship.
Eligible nominees must be agricultural producers based in Lacombe County whose primary source of income comes from farming or ranching.
Nominations are open until August 20, 2026.
