The County of Grande Prairie will host a free, family-friendly celebration marking its 75th anniversary on August 21 & 22 at Evergreen Park.
The event will honour the community’s history, resilience, and spirit of growth over the past seven-and-a-half decades.
Festivities kick off August 21, with a vibrant lineup of live performances, family activities, a local market, and interactive experiences suitable for all ages.
The weekend culminates on Saturday evening with a headline performance by Canadian country music star Brett Kissel, who takes the main stage at 9 p.m., followed by the Peace Region’s first-ever drone light show.
“For 75 years, the County of Grande Prairie has been built by the people who live, work and invest in our community,” said Reeve Amanda McDonald. “This anniversary gives us a chance to reflect on our shared history, celebrate our progress, and look forward to an even brighter future. We warmly invite everyone to come out and be part of this special milestone.
Families will also enjoy plenty of activities, including the Touch-a-Tractor experience, a car show, the Aquatera Family Fun Zone, wagon rides, roaming puppet entertainment, the CN Mini Train, MPA Engineering Ltd. Food Truck Alley, the opportunity to explore County equipment and fire trucks up close, and more.
