Onion Lake Cree Nation Powwow Returns from July 17-19

The Onion Lake Cree Nation Powwow will take place from July 17 to July 19 at the Powwow Grounds in Onion Lake. This event features dancers from across North America competing.

Grant Whitstone, one of the event’s MCs, tells CFWE that it is one of the largest powwows in Canada.

Whitstone also mentioned that one dance that has always been part of the tradition but is making a comeback is the horse dance, which will be featured in this year’s powwow.
