City of Edmonton Skyline
The City of Edmonton is activating its extreme heat weather response to help keep vulnerable people safe during the expected hot weather in the coming days. The activation starts today at 9 a.m. and is expected to end on July 19 at 9 a.m. The response may be extended if extreme conditions continue.
The extreme heat response is activated when daytime temperatures are forecast to be 29 C or higher for at least three days in a row.
During extreme heat, helping people avoid dehydration is critical. Providing access to drinking water and cool places to rest is essential to the City’s response.
