An Amber Alert issued early Thursday morning for a six-year-old boy was cancelled Friday afternoon for Alberta, but remains in place for British Columbia.
The alert was expanded to B.C. and much of the Northwest Territories and the Yukon after the child was spotted in Fort St. John, B.C., on Wednesday morning.

An Amber Alert has been issued for six-year-old boy is now interprovincial.
RCMP say the boy was taken on Tuesday from the hamlet of Valhalla Centre, roughly 63 kilometres northwest of Grande Prairie, Alta.
The Amber Alert was issued in the early morning hours on Thursday.
Lanakai is believed to be with his biological mother, Krista Morrison, her partner Daniel Ludwig and another child, 4-year-old Karl Morrison.
Police add that Ludwig may have a shaved or bald head, as opposed to brown hair as originally shared.
Additionally, they say the original vehicle (a black 2015 Toyota Tundra) they were believed to be in has been located, and they are now believed to be driving a 2006 Red Ford F350, AB license plate CXW8820. B.C. RCMP noted, however, that they are not sure what licence plate the vehicle currently has.
Lanakai Morrison is described as:
- 6-years-old
- Slight build
- Long light brown hair
- Brown eyes
Krista Morrison is described as:
- 35-years-old
- 5’8” tall
- Medium build
- Long dark brown hair
- Brown eyes
Daniel Ludwig is described as:
- 35-years-old
- 5’11” tall
- Large build
- Brown hair (may be bald or have a shaved head)
- Brown Eyes
