4th Annual Alberta Wife Carrying Championship to Return at Lakeland County Fair

Competitors from across Alberta will race, climb and splash their way through the 4th annual Wife Carrying Championship on July 25 as the popular event returns to the 2026 Lakeland County Fair in Lac La Biche County, promising plenty of laughs and friendly competition.

Aurel Langevin, President of the Lac La Biche Agricultural Society, tells CFWE the Alberta Wife Carrying Championship has become a signature event, attracting visitors from across Alberta and beyond while showcasing Lac La Biche County’s hospitality in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.

Langevin highlights the zany course that competitors will run through, that also features an Alberta style twist on the course featuring Tractor tires, waste deep water, and more.
