Clairmont RCMP have charged a driver after allegedly clocking a vehicle traveling 202 km/h in an 110 km/h zone on Highway 43 between Grande Prairie and Wembley.
According to RCMP, the incident occurred on Monday, July 6, at approximately 10:40 p.m., while officers were conducting laser speed enforcement on Highway 43. Police stopped a vehicle that was allegedly traveling nearly double the posted speed limit. The driver, a 46-year-old Grande Prairie resident, was issued a mandatory court summons for speeding and careless driving.
RCMP are reminding motorists that excessive speed puts everyone at risk and are urging drivers to slow down and obey posted speed limits to help keep Alberta roads safe.
