Six years after the suspicious death of a Grande Prairie woman, RCMP have made an arrest.
29 year old Amadeus Laforce was arrested on July 3rd and charged with second-degree murder in the death of 23-year-old Cheyenne Omeasoo.
Omeasoo was found dead in her residence at Mountainview Manor on August 11th, 2020. Her death was reported to RCMP shortly after 11:15 that night, and investigators had appealed to the public for information about any suspicious activity in the area between 8 p.m. and 1 a.m.
On June 25, 2026, RCMP obtained an arrest warrant in relation to the death and took Laforce into custody.
Laforce has been charged with second-degree murder and is to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie on Monday July 6, 2026.
