The Class of 2026 will be inducted into the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame this weekend.
The induction ceremony scheduled for Saturday at Red Deer Resort & Casino, will see 13 members in total, including athletes Kasia Gruchalla-Wesierski (rowing), Jen Kish (rugby), Shannon Kleibrink (curling), Jim Steacy (hammer throw), and the 1995 Calgary Canucks hockey team.
In addition, builders Dennis Allen (multisport), Bernie Haley (hockey), Donna Rudakas (basketball), Dale Schulha (multisport), and Bud Steen (football) will also be inducted.
Broadcaster David Moir will receive the Bell Memorial Award, Allen Berg will be presented with the Motorsport Achievement, and Dr. Bob Bratton will be recognized as a volleyball pioneer.
The ceremony gets underway at 5:30pm.
