Today, Operation Friendship Seniors Society hosted 40 volunteers celebrating the 21st Annual Telus Days of Giving at Pioneer Place in Edmonton.
The group improved spaces for seniors and strengthening community connections by painting gazebos, benches, railings, planting flowers, yard work organizing clothing donations and more.
Founded in 1969, OFSS is a non-profit organization that supports vulnerable seniors aged 55 and older across Edmonton’s inner city.
The organization provides housing, community-based social services and support programs for seniors experiencing homelessness, poverty, social isolation, addiction and mental health challenges, helping ensure they remain connected to care, dignity and community support.
TELUS Days of Giving, is one of the world’s largest corporate volunteer movements, mobilizing more than 100,000 volunteers across 35 countries.
Last year, TELUS team members and retirees contributed 1.5 million volunteer hours globally for the third consecutive year, with more than one million hours volunteered in each of the past nine years.
