Three suspects have been charged with several offences in relation to an April kidnapping case on the Paul First Nation.
According to Parkland RCMP, a 20-year-old woman and two men, aged 27 and 33, were arrested last week and face charges including kidnapping, extortion, robbery with a firearm, assault causing bodily harm and other weapons offences.
Mounties said the suspects held two people against their will on April 13 at a home on the First Nation, where they beat, threatened and robbed them. RCMP said two of the people charged had firearms and discharged them.
The woman was arrested on April 19, while the 33-year-old man was found and detained by police on April 22, both in Edmonton. The 27-year-old man was arrested at a Spruce Grove restaurant on Thursday.
On April 23, Parkland RCMP members arrested a 27 year old suspect at a Spruce Grove restaurant after receiving a complaint that a male patron was refusing to pay for his meal and drinks. He was also remanded in custody.
As the investigation continues, RCMP are not releasing the suspects’ names at this time. The suspects are facing several serious charges, including kidnapping, extortion, robbery with a firearm, assault causing bodily harm, and other weapons offences.
