A peacock and peahen caught up in a truck theft have been found safe and sound.
According to Parkland County RCMP, Pete and Hilda were located still in their crate Sunday on a highway by two people who cared for the birds until they were returned.
The peafowl were in a white pickup truck when it was stolen early Sunday in Stony Plain, and were located about 35 kilometres west of where they were taken.
Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for the 2005 Ford F350 truck with aluminum bed rails, a headache rack with a light bar on top, and a chrome bumper with additional amber lights on the grill.
