A baby has died in a house fire in west-central Alberta and that emergency crews continue to search for a toddler.
Breton RCMP received a call at 12:30 p.m. Thursday about a fire at a house along Township Road 482, according to an RCMP news release issued Friday afternoon. The property is just north of Breton, a village about 80 kilometres southwest of Edmonton.
They say a woman and two other children managed to escape but that the infant and toddler were still inside.
Firefighters battled the flames but police say a rescue wasn’t possible.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
