With support from Faust RCMP, the Western Alberta Crime Reduction Unit, the Provincial Crime Reduction Team, Alberta’s Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services, and RCMP Air Services; Mounties visited a location near Atikameg on January 9.
Once on the scene, Mounties witnessed a quad, associated with an offender wanted on warrants, flee from police.
Mounties attempted to stop the quad, which resulted in it being lodged and stuck in a snow bank, and officers took the ATV operator into custody.
Officers also seized 3.77 grams of methamphetamine and 5.88 grams of cannabis.
Auger was remanded into custody, and was scheduled to be in court January 20.
The same day, (January 9) RCMP also located a suspect wanted on warrants with a stolen vehicle in a wooded area.
Mounties attempted to apprehend the suspect, but they fled and were tracked back to their residence in Atikameg by a police dog.
All occupants of the home were evacuated before an arrest was made, without incident.
Atikameg resident, 28-year-old, Jericho Boyd Grey had 19 charges laid against him, on top 29 pre-existing warrants.
Additionally, RCMP seized several weapons, a firearm, and an assortment of ammunition.
Grey was remanded into custody had a court date set January 20.
