The Stettler Emergency Department will experience closures this week, but some gaps have been filled according to Alberta Health Services.
Coverage gaps overnight on January 16 and 18 have been filled, as well as a 24-hour coverage gap beginning the evening of January 19.
The ED will be temporarily closed:
- Jan. 13 at 5 p.m. to Jan. 14 at 8 a.m.
- Jan. 14 at 5 p.m. to Jan. 15 at 8 a.m.
- Jan. 15 at 5 p.m. to Jan. 16 at 8 a.m.
- Jan. 19 at 5 p.m. to Jan. 20 at 8 a.m.
- Jan. 20 at 5 p.m. to Jan. 21 at 8 a.m.
If physician coverage can be found, the ED service will be restored.
AHS adds that during this time, nursing staff will remain on site providing assistance in redirecting/referring patients to alternate emergency departments in other communities.
