Alberta Health Services say the Valleyview Health Centre Emergency Department will be without an on-site physician for 18 hours starting Monday, January 13.
With the inability to secure coverage, there will be no on-site physician from 4:30 p.m. Monday to 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14.
Nursing staff will be on-site in the emergency department doing urgent triage, assessments and referrals to alternate emergency departments in neighbouring communities.
AHS says that if coverage is found, the disruption could be canceled.
