The Samson Cree Nation Food Bank will host their annual Charity Checkstop on December 10 from 9-3 PM, to support community members in need with food hampers in time for the holidays.
Janet Swampy, Manager at Samson Food Bank spoke with CFWE on the Charity Checkstop since it started 8 years ago within the community.
Swampy encourages donors to bring non-perishable items such as canned and boxed food to go towards their hamper project.
Swampy reflects on previous years of the Charity Checkstop as many community members help in donations of food and monetary.
Swampy adds that the goal for this year’s Charity Checkstop is to help their community of Samson Cree Nation of over 1,000 people with 150-170 hampers to be distributed from the donations they collect at the event.
