Two Fort McMurray residents have been arrested and charged with robbery thanks to the work from a police dog.
Crews responded to reports of an armed robbery at the downtown Shoppers Drug Mart on June 5th at around 7:30pm. According to police, a man and a woman were suspected of shoplifting, when the employee confronted the two suspects the worker was threatened with a knife. No one was injured during the altercation.
One of the RCMP dogs picked up the scent of the suspects and led crews back to a nearby residence on Birch Road. Both suspects were found in the home, arrested and charged. They’ve been charged with robbery and have been released from custody with their court date on July 3rd.
