Connor McDavid made history joining the likes of Hall of Famers after a 9-2 beatdown of the San Jose Sharks.
McDavid had a goal and potted his 100th assist of the season. The Oilers captain is just the fourth player in NHL history to hit the 100-assist milestone behind Wayne Gretzky (11 times), Mario Lemieux and Bobby Orr, and the first since 1990-1991.
McDavid spoke to the media following the 9-2 victory and discussed his feelings towards a milestone moment in his illustrious career.
The 2024 Oilers season has had it’s fair share of ups and downs, including more milestone moments for winger Zach Hyman, who achieved his first 50 goal season. Hyman spoke on playing with McDavid throughout the season.
Edmonton will have two more games before the NHL playoffs begin on Monday April 22nd. They currently sit with 49 wins on the year with a matchup against the Coyotes and Avalanche.
