On Tuesday March 5th the Government of Canada hosted “A Circle of Support” which aims to connect Indigenous peoples with in-person services from the Government of Canada and community partners.
Avneet Mangat, Co-Lead of the Circle of Support, expresses how the government and non-profit agencies are coming together to give Indigenous peoples services in-person.
Indigenous peoples had the opportunity to learn as well as apply for SIN and treaty status cards, explore employment opportunities, access resources and community non-profits and learn about financial benefits.
Heather Day, Program Manager for the Ben Calf Robe Society says this event is a great way for Indigenous peoples to discover the supports that are out there.
Organizers for The Circle of Support hope to see this event continue, as it’s beneficial to Indigenous peoples looking to get more resources.
