RCMP in west central Alberta say they have found human remains in a rural area near Duffield and Paul First Nation, 75 km northeast of Drayton Valley.
On May 27, RCMP received a report of human remains in that area; members attended and the remains were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where the death was deemed a homicide.
Alberta Major Crimes Unit is now investigating.
The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Edmonton resident, Patrick Couterielle-Boyd, police say.
Patrick has no known ties to the area where he was found. RCMP are asking for any information from the public that might help in the investigation.
