The Edmonton Elks Indigenous Celebration Night showcased a new logo that both the Elks players and fans wore inside Commonwealth Stadium.
Conrad Plews, the artist behind the design of the Indigenous logo spoke with Windspeaker Radio Network about his thoughts of seeing his design on shirts and on the turf of the football field.
Plews says that when he was approached by the Edmonton Elks seeking an Indigenous design for the logo, within a week the design was complete.
Plews talks about his inspiration behind the logo with paying homage to a previous artist that designed the Elks logo for Orange shirt Day several years ago.
Plews says that he loves seeing the overwhelming positivity with his logo, from the fans, the Elks organization and the City of Edmonton.
