A pedestrian is dead after a highway crash in the Lac La Biche area.
The RCMP were at the scene of the crash, on Highway 881 between Range Road 133 and Lakeland Drive, just after midnight on Tuesday.
The crash is under investigation.
Auto-body shops in the Lac La Biche region are being asked to keep an eye out for anyone bringing in a vehicle with damage.
Lac La Biche RCMP are also saying they are interested in speaking with a man who witnesses say was seen by a vehicle near the scene. They are asking anyone who may have been driving along the stretch of highway near the weigh scales and rest area east of the Bold Center to the intersection of Lakeland Drive, between 10:30 pm and midnight to review dash-cam footage or contact the detachment if they saw anything that could help.
RCMP have not released the age or gender of the person who was killed, only saying that just before midnight on Monday, officers were dispatched to the highway near Range Road 132 where they found an “unidentified deceased person.”
