Primary Care Alberta’s Screening Programs have announced an update to their communication methods to better serve Albertans.
Starting this fall, paper invitations and reminder notifications for cancer screenings will be phased out whenever possible. Instead, patients will receive notifications and information through the MyHealthAlberta MyChart online platform.
The Alberta Cervical Cancer Screening Program started this change on September 15. The Alberta Colorectal Cancer Screening Program and the Alberta Breast Cancer Screening Program are scheduled to follow suit in 2027.
Patients not enrolled in MyChart will continue to receive printed letters. Normal screening results will be available via MyChart or communicated through the patient’s appropriate care provider.
Abnormal test results will be mailed, available via MyChart, or communicated through the patient’s appropriate care provider.

If you still receive paper letters and are concerned your mailing address is incorrect, call Primary and Preventative Health Services at 310-0000 (toll-free), then dial 780-427-1432.
