A Peerless Lake man has received an 8 month jail term after admitting guilt to assault with a weapon.
Alexis Julius Okemow entered a plea of guilty in Red Earth Creek provincial court.
As part of the agreement, five additional charges against him were dropped.
The case arose from events in the early hours of April 18, 2026.
Shortly before 3 a.m., Red Earth Creek RCMP responded to a report from a man who said someone was attempting to stab him.
Mounties also noted the complainant was bleeding from a punch to the face.
Police made an arrest soon afterward and later charged Okemow in relation to the incident.
Following his guilty plea, the court imposed the 240-day custodial sentence and withdrew the remaining counts.
