Search teams are combing Beaver River in the effort to locate Whyette Scanie and bring him home safely.
The recovery effort remains ongoing following a May 1 incident where Scanie fell into the river near the Iron Horse Trail trestle.
Cold Lake First Nations Fire Rescue, working alongside Cold Lake Search and Rescue, are conducting operations along the waterway.
CLFN is urging both community members to keep clear of the active search zone so that crews can operate without interference or added risk.
Although the Beaver River’s water levels have fallen, the surrounding conditions are still hazardous.
“Although water levels have gone down, the riverbanks remain unstable and unsafe,” the Nation stated in its latest update. “Please do not approach the river or enter the search area.”
