Wood Buffalo residents can dispose of household hazardous waste and electronics for free during a one-day collection event Saturday.
The RMWB is holding its annual Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Roundup Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Centerfire Place parking lot.
The event is intended for materials that should not be placed in regular garbage or recycling bins.
Accepted items include oil- and water-based paint, engine oil, gasoline, diesel, household chemicals, weed killer and bear spray.
Residents can also drop off propane tanks weighing between one and 20 pounds, fire extinguishers, helium and spray foam cylinders and several types of fluorescent bulbs.
Electronics including televisions, computers, vacuums, tools, toys, lamps and solar panels will also be accepted, along with batteries of all sizes, including vehicle batteries.
Residents unable to attend Saturday’s event can drop off household hazardous and electronic waste throughout the year at the Regional Landfill’s public drop-off.
