The MAN VAN, a mobile men’s health clinic, is coming to Fort McMurray 468 First Nation this month, offering free prostate cancer screening and other health checks.
The van will be at the FMFN 468 Health Centre – 143 Lakeshore Drive – on Friday, September 25th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The clinic is intended to make men’s health screening convenient and accessible within the community, no appointments will be needed.
The MAN VAN will be offering free PSA blood testing for men between the ages of 40 and 70. This testing can help with the early detection of prostate cancer, which can develop without warning signs. Services also include blood sugar and blood pressure testing, mental wellness checks and waist circumference measuring.
Anyone with questions can contact Community Health Nurse, Joyce Nsingo, at 587-645-2533.
