Almost 100 small-breed dogs have been rescued from a home in Gregoire following a search warrant.
Bylaw Services say officers entered the home on August 25th under a warrant obtained through Alberta’s Animal Protection Act. 97 dogs were taken from the home and placed in the care of Fort McMurray SPCA.
The investigation is underway, charges are pending against the person who was at the home when the animals were found.
Each dog will require a veterinary examination, spaying or neutering and vaccinations before they are available for adoption. The process could take weeks and in some cases, months.
Animal welfare concerns can be directed to Pulse for assessment by Animal Control. All emergencies can be reported to 911.
