Whitefish Lake First Nation #128 is inviting the community to celebrate Treaty Days from Aug. 28 to 30, featuring fireworks, a parade, youth activities, sports tournaments, vendors and more. The three-day event will bring together community, culture, family and entertainment at Goodfish Lake Multiplex.
Rennie Houle, Whitefish Lake First Nation Treaty Days Chairman, tells CFWE the event provides an important space to strengthen mental health and bring the community together amid a local state of emergency that’s been in effect since March 17 over road and housing conditions following recent extreme weather of heavy rainfall and strong winds.
