Alberta Day is just around the corner, with communities across the region getting ready to celebrate the province’s history and identity.
On September first, 1905, the Alberta Act came into effect, formally establishing Alberta as a province.
Today, September first is recognized as Alberta Day — an opportunity to celebrate the province’s story and pass it on from one generation to the next.
This year, celebrations are taking place across the region from August 28th through September first, with events planned in Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer, Fort McMurray, Lac Cardinal, High Level, Lac La Biche, Grande Prairie, Valleyview, Fairview and Hines Creek.
Organizers are inviting residents to come out, take part in the festivities, and celebrate what makes Alberta home.
