A 23-year-old Fort McMurray man has been arrested after allegedly approaching children in a local park.
According to RCMP, the man was reported to have approached children playing near a skatepark in the Parsons Creek area at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
He was arrested and faces four charges of sexual interference.
Sexual interference is defined as the touching—directly or with an object—of a person under the age of 16 for a sexual purpose.
RCMP did not release the man’s name, stating that a publication ban is expected.He was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort McMurray on September 2.
