Members of the Fort McKay First Nation are invited to access free in-person mental health counselling beginning Tuesday.
Registered psychiatric nurse Bev Nackoney will provide support in the community from August 18 to 20, with a second series of appointments scheduled for September 15 to 17.
Virtual sessions are also available for those who prefer remote support.
Nackoney holds a master’s degree in counselling and brings decades of experience in mental health care, including more than 30 years working with Indigenous clients and communities across Canada. She is an approved provider under the federal Non-Insured Health Benefits program.
Counselling sessions will centre on each individual’s goals, strengths and overall well-being, delivered in a respectful, culturally safe and person-centred manner.
All services are confidential and provided according to professional and ethical standards.
To book an appointment, call or text Nackoney at 403-461-3655 or email gentlestreamcounselling@gmail.com
