Over the long weekend, RCMP say five people died in separate crashes in Alberta.
From last Friday to Monday, 28 injuries also occured from crashes.
Mounties conducted traffic safety enforcement across Alberta over the long weekend and issued 1,107 tickets. Out of those tickets, 413 were for speeding, 27 for distracted driving and 20 for seatbelt infractions.
90 drivers were taken off the roads for drug or alcohol impairment.
