Grande Prairie is gearing up to celebrate the end of summer in style as Experience Grande Prairie returns for its fifth edition on Friday, August 28, from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The free, family-friendly event promises an unforgettable evening filled with live music, local food, and plenty of community spirit.
This year’s celebration will take place on the outdoor grounds of Bonnetts Energy Centre, turning the space into a vibrant hub for residents and visitors alike.
Canadian rock icons Trooper will headline the night, delivering a high-energy set packed with decades of classic hits. Fans can look forward to sing-along favourites including “Raise a Little Hell,” “Here for a Good Time,” and “The Boys in the Bright White Sports Car” as the band closes out the evening.
The stacked lineup also showcases a strong mix of local and regional talent:
- Markevich Youth Band – Energetic young musicians showcasing skills honed at Markevich Creative Studio’s Rock Camp.
- Brad Sims – Powerful Indigenous country singer-songwriter known for his captivating voice and crowd-pleasing performances.
- The Northbloods – Grande Prairie’s own hauntingly magnetic band, bringing a distinctive and unforgettable sound to the stage.
Inside The Bowes, local organizations will run interactive community booths, while children’s activities and games offer fun for the whole family. Meanwhile, H.A. Rice Plaza will come alive with a variety of food vendors serving up local flavours throughout the evening.
