Fire advisories for the City and County of Grande Prairie have been lifted. The City removed its advisory after recent rain and cooler temperatures reduced the wildfire danger in the area to low.
On June 30, the County of Grande Prairie also lifted its advisory, which includes the communities of Beaverlodge, Sexsmith, and Wembley. This change coincides with Alberta Wildfire’s decision to lift all restrictions in the Grande Prairie Forest Area.
While the risk has decreased, residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and to follow all burning guidelines to ensure the safety of the community.
