The Highway 63 bridge, also known to locals as “The Bridge to nowhere” over the Athabasca River north of Fort McMurray was closed early Thursday morning due to a crash.
Three vehicles were involved and at least two people were taken to fort McMurray’s Northern lights regional health centre. The extent of the victims’ injuries are unknown.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
The Peter Lougheed Bridge is 50 kilometres north of Fort Mcmurray and was closed from about 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
