Treaty Days is underway at Fort McKay First Nation, with four days of cultural celebrations, entertainment and traditional activities.
From June 18 to 21, Treaty Days features an expanded cultural village, traditional games, community competitions, live music and family activities. therre is a round dance, Jigging, moose calling and laughing contests.
Friday’s schedule includes a community parade, grand entry and opening ceremonies featuring dancing, drumming and remarks from dignitaries. Organizers say the parade will showcase Fort McKay, neighboring communities and regional partners.
Saturday evening’s entertainment lineup features performances by A.B.O. and Who Made Who, an AC/DC tribute band, before Canadian country-rock group Blue Rodeo takes the main stage.
The evening will conclude with a fireworks and drone show.
