Alberta Metis Fest
The 8th Annual Métis Fest is set to take place at Métis Crossing, hosted by the Otipemisiwak Métis Government that will bring together families, community members, and visitors for two-days of Métis culture, music, food, arts and traditional activities.
Rebecca Lavallee, Secretary of Youth and Sports at the Otipemisiwak Métis Government spoke with CFWE on bringing Métis community members together for celebration of culture and connection of generations of Métis people together.
Lavallee highlights this years Métis Fest newest additions to the annual event, which will include a Battle of the Bands that will have 5 local artists competing for the grand prize of $5,000 dollars, along with introducing the Oskâyak Youth Club Stage that will feature jigging and musical performances and more.
