Blue Jean Jacket Day will be observed on Saturday, June 6, and aims to raise awareness about missing and murdered Indigenous men and boys. The day was first launched in Edmonton on June 6, 2023.
Stephanie Harpe, the co-founder of Blue Jean Jacket Day, tells CFWE that this is an international movement and highlights the importance of remembering these men and boys.
The Edmonton Blue Jean Jacket Day event will take place on June 6 at 9625 Jasper Avenue from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event will include a variety of information-sharing and learning activities. If it rains, the event will be moved to the Central Lions Recreation Centre.
