Collision west of Red Deer kills 4 people, including 2 young girls from O’Chiese First Nation

Four people, including two children, died in a vehicle collision in central Alberta Friday afternoon.

Rocky Mountain RCMP responded to the collision on O’Chiese Road west of Red Deer at around 4:33 p.m.

The driver of the Grand Caravan, a 74-year-old and a 51-year-old male passenger, both from Rocky Mountain House were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two girls, ages five and six, from O’Chiese First Nation who were travelling in the Jeep Cherokee were also declared deceased at the scene.

The four other people in the vehicles were sent to hospital.
