Red Deer RCMP are asking the public for information following an assault that occurred at about 2:20 p.m. on May 11 in the Lancaster Meadows area.
Mounties received multiple 911 calls requesting assistance.
Police were notified that a female youth had been assaulted at a field in the neighbourhood, and had been brought to the Collicutt Centre for assistance.
The victim sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
Anyone who witnessed the assault or who may have video footage is asked to contact Red Deer RCMP at 403-406-2200 or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers.
